How a Care Technology Alarm Works
Your Medequip Connect care technology alarm package is usually made up of a base unit, an electric power socket and a call button which is worn as a pendant round the neck or on a wrist strap – like a watch. We supply a choice of alarm units and call buttons from top manufacturers such as Chiptech and Essence.
Once the base alarm unit has been installed and tested, it is connected to our TSA accredited Emergency Response Centre. The care alarm is there to protect you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year as our monitoring Team are always ready to respond if you need assistance.
Your personal alarm call button can be worn all the time. It is waterproof – so can be kept on in the bath or shower, it has a long range – so can still work in most gardens. If you need assistance for any reason, you may feel unwell, or have had a fall, just press the button on your pendant or wristband.
We will make sure you understand how it works and the importance of making test calls once a month. It is important that you become familiar with your alarm equipment and know what you can expect from the service.

Keysafe Supply and Installation
In most areas, we can recommend a local tradesperson to install a keysafe which is securely fitted in a discreet location outside of your property so that responders (yours and ours) can gain access. Keysafes have a 4 or 5 digit code to open them, are widely used throughout the Care industry and are a discreet way of making your keys available to your Contacts to use in case of emergencies.
