Medequip Connect has been appointed by Wiltshire Council to provide a fully managed Technology Enabled Care (TEC) service for council-funded Customers across the county, helping them to maintain independence and quality of life.
Managed through Medequip Connect’s specialist local team, the TEC service will include provision of 24/7 monitoring, individual assessments and referrals to identify and install appropriate equipment, ongoing equipment repairs, maintenance and responsible decommissioning, and a programme to introduce enhanced technology options as the market continues to evolve.
Wiltshire Council is positioning TEC at the heart of its services, playing an integral role in the social care pathway. Medequip Connect will contribute towards developing a proactive and preventative approach, delivering ‘Test & Learn’ projects across all care settings. The company will also be responsible for effectiveness measurement activities, tracking and reporting on measurable financial and non-financial benefits.
In addition to providing and supporting the service, Medequip Connect will also focus on introducing enhanced technology options for customers who wish to benefit from additional support in line with the company’s focus on providing proactive and preventative technology enabled care. Privately funded individuals will also be supported to find effective TEC solutions.
In line with the national shift from analogue to digital, Medequip Connect will support those Customers still using analogue equipment, arranging home visits to upgrade their equipment and provide guidance on new digital systems to ensure a seamless transition.
Stephen McKee, Medequip Connect Head of Business Development, Transformation and Consultancy said:

We aim to use this experience to ensure that every individual receives the right personalised technology that is unique and tailored to their needs, enhancing independence and quality of life. Over the next few months, we look forward to hearing from all members of the community and discussing how we can work together to make sure the service is right for everyone.”
Medequip Connect will assume responsibility for TEC and equipment services for Wiltshire Council from 1 April 2025.
